FROM THE EAST
Brethren,
Our scheduled stated meeting is going to be November 3rd, at 7:30 p.m. Our NE coordinator for IlChIP (IllinoisChildIdentification Program) Brother Michael Leal will be joining us, to hold training for our Lodge. Our Lodge will be hosting an IlChIP event at Kohl’s Children’s Museum located in Glenview at 2100 Patriot Blvd. on Thursday, November 11th at 10-1pm. If anyone would like to help out you MUST come and participate in the training done by Bro. Leal. I’ve asked Bro. Leal to come a little early for those that can’t stay til the end of the meeting. The training will start around 7p.m. and should take about 15 minutes to do. Kohl’s Children’s Museum is doing us a huge favor.
On December 11th our Lodge will be helping out Lawrence Hall House with their Annual Christmas Party. The Lawrence Hall House is a foster organization based in Chicago on the North side of the city located by Lawrence and California. This is the exact reason why I joined Freemasonry: to give back to the community. I know it’s a little far, but the cause is well worth it. Their Christmas Party is going to be located at 501 E 90th in Chicago. They have only asked us to help set-up, breakdown, and have someone act as Santa. If you have the time, please come out help those less fortunate as ourselves. Set-up starts at 11a.m., and clean-up starts at 4p.m.
Our Lodge’s Holiday Party is going to be held tentatively on December 12th, around 1pm. I’m talking with our Junior Warden to figure out the logistics, so if you can please keep the 12th open, invitations will be coming and posted on the web site.
Long hearted thanks goes out to RW Bro Carlton, RW Bro Horowitz, RW Bro Shiff, RW Bro Taman, Bro Hardesty, Bro Jorgenson, Bro Anderson, Bro Alprin from King Oscar Lodge #855, Bro Reyes from Men in Brotherhood Lodge #1178, and Bro Vargas from Aurora Lodge 7 Lodge located in Puerto Rico. For helping our Lodge on its 3rd degree.
Fraternally,
Edward Hernandez
Worshipful Master

FROM THE WEST
Brethren,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who attended our Special Meeting in October to help with the Third Degrees that we conferred upon our four newest brethren. I am continually impressed by the eagerness of our brethren to help out with our various tasks, and the quality of work that they produce while doing so.
This year, we have chosen to take on the monumental task of achieving the Grand Master's Award of Excellence, which requires us to complete eight primary (complex) requirements, and eight secondary (less complex) requirements. These requirements are listed below:
Primary Requirements:
Grand Lodge Attendance
- Invitation to Petition
- Widows Communications
Academic Bowl Sponsorship
- Unfinished Work Committee
Attend Leadership Workshop
- Attend Grand Lecturer's School
- ILCHIP Event
Secondary Requirements
- Educational Programs (4)
Masonic Youth Group
- Father and Son and/or Daughter Night
- Academic Bowl Dinner
- Academic Bowl Sectionals/State
- Secretary's Workshop
- Lodge Blood Drive
Coins for Children
If you would like a complete description of these items, they can be found here. I know that if we continue to work together as we have this year, we can achieve this great goal that we have set forth for ourselves. Thank you all again!
